Our Policies

Thank you for choosing Pastries By Exposure. Please review our policies before placing your order. These guidelines ensure a smooth, professional, and consistent experience for every customer.


1. ORDER POLICY


All orders must be placed a minimum of 48 hours in advance. Orders are not confirmed until payment is received. Product availability and scheduling is based on our production calendar and order slots may close during high-demand seasons. Holiday ordering windows will be announced in advance. We recommend placing orders early, especially during holidays and event seasons.



Please allow 3–5 business days for processing before shipping. Processing times may be longer during holidays, sales, or high-volume seasons. If you need your order by a specific date, please contact us before ordering to confirm availability.



2. CUSTOM ORDER AND DEPOSIT POLICY


Custom orders, including cakes, dessert tables, wedding orders, and event displays, require a 50% deposit to reserve the date. The remaining balance is due before pickup or delivery. Deposits are non-refundable once work has begun or supplies have been purchased for your order. Custom order slots are limited and are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.



3. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY


Orders may be canceled up to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup or delivery time.


Custom order deposits are refundable up to 7 calendar days before your scheduled date.


Once an order has been received (picked up, delivered, or shipped), all sales are final and no refunds will be issued.


Refunds are not issued for:

Missed pickup or delivery

Change of mind

Failure to read product descriptions, policies, or storage instructions

Minor design or color variations, as edible products are handcrafted



4. ORDER CHANGE POLICY


Changes to orders must be made at least 48 hours in advance and are subject to approval. Changes may not be possible during peak seasons. If we cannot reach you for order clarification, production may be paused or your order may be completed based on the original details provided. Custom order changes after production begins may not be accommodated.



5. PICKUP POLICY


Pickup times are scheduled during ordering. Please arrive on time to ensure product quality. A 15-minute grace period is allowed. After that time, your order may be held until you arrive or may be rescheduled to another date and/or time for re-pickup. Missed pickups are non-refundable. Once the order leaves our care, we are not responsible for damage due to handling, transportation, or storage.



6. DELIVERY POLICY


Local delivery is available for baked goods and dry goods for an additional fee based on distance and availability within Volusia County, Florida and surrounding counties. Delivery times must be confirmed in advance during booking. Someone must be present to receive the order. If delivery must be rescheduled due to no answer at the delivery address, a redelivery fee may apply. Pastries By Exposure is not responsible for damage after delivery is completed.



7. SHIPPING POLICY (DRY GOODS ONLY)


Nationwide shipping is available for dry goods only. Baked goods are not eligible for shipping at this time.


Please allow 3–5 business days for processing before shipping. Processing times may be longer during peak seasons and holidays.


Once shipped, Pastries By Exposure is not responsible for lost, delayed, or damaged packages caused by the shipping carrier. All orders are packaged with care, but once they are in transit, we cannot control carrier handling. If your package arrives damaged, contact us within 24 hours with photos so we can assist with a carrier claim.


Shipping insurance is optional but recommended for fragile or high-value orders. If you would like insurance added to your order, please request it at the time of purchase.


Temperature-sensitive dry goods (such as creamed honey or maple cream) may soften or change texture during shipping. This is natural and does not affect product quality or safety.


Weather and climate conditions during shipping do not qualify as product damage.


Once your order has been shipped, delivery time is managed by the carrier (USPS, UPS, FedEx). Weather conditions, holidays, and transit delays may affect delivery times. While we do our best to help track and support delivery concerns, we are not able to offer refunds for delays caused by the carrier or incorrect shipping information provided by the customer.



8. PAYMENT POLICY


Payment is required at the time of ordering unless a custom deposit has been approved. Accepted payments include:

Credit/debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ShopPay, PayPal, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App.


Orders will not be started until payment is received.



9. FRESHNESS AND STORAGE POLICY


Storage instructions are provided with every order. Once products have been picked up, delivered, or shipped, Pastries By Exposure is not responsible for damage caused by improper storage, transportation, or handling.



10. WEATHER AND HEAT DISCLAIMER


Due to Florida’s heat and humidity, cakes, buttercream items, chocolate-dipped treats, caramel apples, and other temperature-sensitive products must be kept cool and handled with care. Pastries By Exposure is not responsible for melting, weather-related damage, or quality changes that occur after pickup or delivery. It is the customer’s responsibility to transport and store products in appropriate conditions (air-conditioned vehicle and immediate refrigeration when required).


WEATHER & OUTDOOR EVENTS


For outdoor events, cakes and desserts must remain in cool, shaded, indoor, or air-conditioned environments. Pastries By Exposure is not responsible for melting or weather-related damage once products are delivered and set up.



11. ALLERGEN DISCLAIMER


All items are made in a home kitchen that processes milk, eggs, wheat, soy, nuts, and other common allergens. Ingredient labels are provided with each product, and allergens are listed separately when applicable. Pastries By Exposure is not responsible for allergic reactions.



12. DIETARY OPTIONS


Some items can be made gluten-free, sugar-free (using alternative sweeteners), dye-free or vegan-friendly by request. These items are made in the same kitchen as allergens and are not guaranteed allergen-free.



13. SATISFACTION AND QUALITY DISCLAIMER


We put care into every order and want you to be happy with your purchase. All of our products are handcrafted, which means slight variations in color, design, and decoration may occur. Inspiration photos are used as a guide, but we do not replicate other artists’ work exactly. Once products leave our care, Pastries By Exposure is not responsible for any damage caused by transportation, weather, or handling. Taste and texture preferences are personal and do not qualify as product defects.



14. COMMUNICATION POLICY


We want your order to be exactly what you’re expecting, so clear communication is important. Order details and confirmations are handled by email or text only. Messages sent through social media may have delayed responses and are not considered official order communication. If we need clarification about your order and do not receive a response, production may be paused or your order may be completed based on the original request.



15. RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE POLICY


Pastries By Exposure reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or discontinue service at any time for any reason, including but not limited to: inappropriate or abusive behavior, harassment, discrimination, unsafe conditions, disrespectful communication, failure to follow policies, or unreasonable expectations. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or discriminatory conduct of any kind. If an order is canceled by Pastries By Exposure due to a violation of this policy, any eligible refunds will be issued at our discretion based on the status of work already completed.



16. COPYRIGHTED AND LICENSED DESIGNS POLICY


Pastries By Exposure can create designs inspired by themes, but we do not replicate or reproduce copyrighted or trademarked characters, logos, or branded designs exactly (including but not limited to Disney, Marvel, Universal Studios, sports teams, and popular media). Themed orders will be created in a way that is original and legally compliant. Licensed or printed images will only be used if officially provided by the customer for personal use only. Pastries By Exposure is not affiliated with or sponsored by any licensed brand, company, or trademark.



17. BRAND, DESIGN, AND CONTENT OWNERSHIP


All product designs, recipes, written content, product photos, packaging ideas, and branding associated with Pastries By Exposure are the intellectual property of Pastries By Exposure and may not be copied, reproduced, resold, redistributed, or used for commercial purposes without written consent. Custom designs created by Pastries By Exposure may not be claimed as your own work, altered for resale, or used for replication by other bakers or businesses.



    1. PHOTO & SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY


We reserve the right to photograph all orders for promotional and portfolio purposes, even if a design was inspired by customer photos or requests.



19. RESALE AND REBRANDING POLICY


All products from Pastries By Exposure are intended for personal use only and are not authorized for resale, redistribution, or rebranding under any circumstances. No individual or business may purchase our products with the intent to resell, repackage, or present them as their own without prior written permission. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone suspected of unauthorized resale activity.



20. COPYRIGHT AND AI CONTENT PROTECTION


All content on this website—including product descriptions, recipes, photos, branding, policies, and written material—is the exclusive property of Pastries By Exposure. Copying, rewriting, duplicating, or using our content in any form, including through AI tools or automated generators, without written permission is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized use will be subject to legal action.



21. PRIVACY POLICY


Your privacy is important to us. Any personal information provided to Pastries By Exposure during ordering (including name, email, phone number, address, and payment details) is used solely to process your order and communicate with you. We do not sell or share your information with third parties. Payment information is securely processed through trusted payment providers and is never stored by us. By placing an order, you agree to receive order-related communication via email or text.



22. COTTAGE FOOD LAW NOTICE


This business operates under the Florida Cottage Food Law. These homemade goods are produced in a cottage food operation located in Volusia County, Florida that is not subject to Florida’s food safety regulations



23. TERMS OF AGREEMENT


By placing an order with Pastries By Exposure, you agree to all terms and policies listed above.
